PlayStation Boycott
Sony removed a feature from PlayStation uses across the globe. Everyone is talking lawsuits and debating if it's legal or not. All the power to those who can gather the legal power needed to combat the electronics giant.
But PlayStation users around the world can't just sit around and let Sony boss us around, and set the precedent that removing features (regardless of how used it is, or how "advertised" it was) is OK.
This is like you buying a new car with air conditioning (who cares if you live in Antarctica and never use it), and then when you take it in for a regular service tune-up, the dealership removes the A/C saying it interfered with the operation of the car. No, they can't do that.
The Boycott
No one should just let this happen without a fight. Even if it didn't affect you. Its disrespectful to the consumer, and PlayStation fans, enthusiasts, and indifferent casual gamers alike.
We need to show Sony this is not how to treat your customers.
Participating in the boycott
DO NOT...
- Buy any NEW PlayStation game, or official PlayStation accessory
- Do not download ANYTHING from the PlayStation store.
- This includes FREE things such as DEMOS and TRAILERS. Sony uses these as marketing tools.
YOU CAN...
- Download game updates
- Buy USED games and accessories
How long?
Well, that kind of depends on the support of everyone participating. A strong support and following may invoke a faster response from Sony. But we should be demanding the inclusion of the feature back onto PlayStations that originally supported it (or just and fair compensation for the loss).
